FAQs
What is E-2 visa?
The E2 Business Visa is a nonimmigrant visa category that's issued to foreign investors from countries that have a treaty with the U.S. to invest a substantial amount of capital in a U.S. business. It allows treaty country nationals to invest and live in the U.S.
The spouses and unmarried children under 21 can accompany the Investor and the Specialist Worker. Spouses may work for any employer or start a business without a separate permit.
An E-2 business must contribute economically and not exist solely to support the investor. The enterprise must generate more than minimal living for the investor and their dependents and must demonstrate present or future capacity to create a significant economic impact. Business Plans projecting 2–3 U.S. employees within 3 years are commonly the minimum accepted.
What are the Three Types of E-2 Visas?
How Long is the E-2 Visa valid?
E2 Investor Visa: Primary Investor
E2 Specialist Worker Visa: Specialist workers holding the same nationality as the primary investor
E-2 Derivative Visa: Spouses and children under 21 years of age (of the Investor and the Specialist Worker)
The validity period of an E‑2 visa depends entirely on your country of citizenship. It can range from 3 months to 5 years.
It is not a Permanent Green Card (like the EB-5). But Indefinite renewals are possible, as long as the business remains active and compliant.
What is the Investment Amount?
To Partnership with us in an investment, we required a Minimum of $100,000 US Dollars. Your money will be backed the actual investment. RODFAR Investment Group has over $4.5 million dollars currently invested in the State of Florida (mostly in Real Estate properties). You will own at least 50% of the new company, up to the actual proportional amount of your investment.
However, as in any Investment there are always risks. They include project delays, investment loss, and government approval uncertainties.
What is the Processing Time?
The E2 Visa has a speed processing time (usually between 15 days to 4 months).
What are the Requirements?
Approval of an E-2 Treaty Investor Visa is governed by statute, regulation, and policy guidance. Adjudicators rely on the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), 8 CFR, the Foreign Affairs Manual (FAM) for consular cases, and the USCIS Policy Manual for change of status filings.
Only nationals of treaty countries can be the principal applicant for an E-2 visa, and they must make a qualifying investment in a U.S. business to be eligible.
